WHITCHURCH and Kingsclere both secured promotion after last weekend’s games in the Hampshire League Regional One North East.

Whitchurch finished second after beating Donnington by 10 wickets as they easily passed the visitors 122. Kingsclere came third after losing their last game to visiting Old Basing III.

The visitors scored 182-6 as Terry Kreysa took 3-50 and then Harry Murtagh top scored with 47, but Kingsclere could only make 128-9.

AWE Tadley (109) finished sixth despite losing Oakley II by four wickets, who came tenth. St Mary’s (176-6) beat Herriard (130) to take eighth place, while Herriard had to settle for 15th.

Rotherwick ITW wrapped up their campaign with a seven wicket win over Odiham II. Odiham (141)saw Pocock hit 55 and Chris Bradshaw 3-25, and Ally Brown 3-35 were the chief wicket takers. Rotherwick ITW completed the job with plenty of overs in hand and losing only three wickets. The key third wicket stand of 73 was between Chris Bradshaw 54 and Graham Hooper 43 not out. Rotherwick ITW finished 13th, exactly where they were after game one and Odiham were ninth.

Hartley Wintney seconds came 12th after winning at Overton by two wickets. Overton were bowled out for 130, thanks to Oliver Kirkpatrick 3-21 and Martyn Williams 3-28. Harry Farley batting at number nine steered Hartley to 131-8, as Wood took 3-22.

In Division Two North East, Sherfield-on-Loddon signed off with a 100 run victory against visiting Ramsdell. So they finished fourth and the visitors 12th. Mark Andrews took 3-19 as Sherfield scored 209-9 and Leroy Abbott took the catch of the season for Ramsdell (109-6).

Basingstoke V beat Ashford Hill II’s by two wickets to take eighth, while Hill finished 11th. Ashford scored 193-1 thanks to an unbroken 168 second wicket partnership between Des Monger 88 and Peter Brown 77. Steve Wadsworth took 3-33 as the Bountymen made 197-8.

Max Morris hit 136 as Odiham III scored 310-5 on their way to beating Tichborne Park (181) as Lans Mosesson took 4-19. the win saw Odiham finish ninth. Oakley III (178) came tenth after they beat Herriard (169), who had to settle for 14th.

In the Hampshire League County Division One, a great finish to the season saw Old Basing takes sixth. Nick Copper took 3-32 to help them to a two run success over Alton II.

Half centuries from Edward Hellings and Zac Le Roux helped Odiham to 277-7 on their way to 139-run success over Sarisbury II and sixth spot in Division Two. Basingstoke thirds (159) lost by 67 runs at Bournemouth II to finish 16th.

Oakley (107-2) achieved the highest ever finish in 170 years with a fourth place in Division Three North as they beat Hungerford by two wickets.

Ramsdell (166) finished fifth despite losing to Soton Community by 91 runs. Overton (261-8) came seventh after a 111-run victory at OTs III's and Hartley Wintney (202-6) were tenth after three wicket loss to RAM.

In Division Four North, Benjamin Bisson hit an unbeaten 51 in Basingstoke IV (96-1) nine wicket win. Old Basing II (96) came 12th after losing at Stockbridge by six wickets.
