MATTHEW Rudd smashed one of the fastest centuries of the summer as he helped Hartley Wintney seconds to a 134-run victory over visiting Soton Community in the Hampshire League County Division three North.

Rudd hit his ton in 39 balls which included eight sixes and only nine dot balls.

He finished on 110 not out and shared a 99-run partnership with Matt Digweed (86).

Captain Darren McBride also hit 55 in Hartley's massive 315-6.

The visitors were then bowled out for 181, as Tristan Gregory took 3-45 from 5.4 overs, while James Beckwith (2-9) from six overs and Jack Darnell returned 2-29.

Ramsdell were also in the runs as they scored 294, as Sam Holbrook led the way with 74 and Luca Wade and Dean Nurse both scored 59.

Wade completed a great all-round performance with 4-18 as OTs and Romsey were bowled out for 237.

Oakley kept up their hopes of promotion as they won at Amport by 41-runs.

The visitors scored 178 and then bowled the home side out for 137, as Alex Brundle took three wickets.
