THE BASINGSTOKE Bison have added three young forwards to their roster for this season.

They are new face Bayley Harewood and returning Cam Buckle and Sam Brooks.

Harewood from Barry came through the Cardiff junior system and in the 16-year-old final year at under-15 he scored 31 goals in 12 games in 2016/17.

The 16-year-old has since spent the last two years playing in Canada for the CIHA Voyageurs Bantam AAA where he netted 24 times in 29 games and last year for the CIHA White Midget AAA as well as the Cardiff Devils under-18s.

Both Buckle and Brooks are no strangers to the Herd and both made their debuts in the treble winning season.

Once again the pair will be on two-way deal with the South Two outfit Basingstoke Buffalo.

Basingstoke-born Buckle has so far played seven league games for the Bison and has two assists to his name. Last term the 19-year-old collected 35 points for the Buffalo scored 13 times.

Brooks has played 10 league games for the Herd in two seasons and 19-year-old last year in a Buffalo uniform picked up 29 points hitting the net 15 times.

Bison player/coach Ashley Tait is delighted with triple signing and said: “Adam Harding skated with Bayley at Cardiff and told me about him. He came down and trained with us and I was impressed with what I saw.

“Both Sam and Cam have a lot of talent and will add to the pool of players we have, as last seasons we were very lucky with injury. I want them to be able to step in when needed and playing with Buffalo means they are still getting the ice time they need to develop as players.”
