BASINGSTOKE cricketer George Metzger helped Hampshire Academy into the the semi-finals of the Southern League T20 Plate and they are now one game away from a trip to the Ageas Bowl.
To get there they need to beat Sparsholt on Sunday, August 18 in their last four showdown.
The other semi-final will see Portsmouth and Southsea entertain OTs and Romsey.
Last Sunday, the Academy booked their place in the last four, with a seven wicket win at Tichborne Park.
The home side scored 129-8 and Metzger with an unbeaten 26 and Fletcha Middleton (51 not out) saw Hampshire's young guns to victory with unbroken fourth wicket stand worth 72 runs, as they got home with five overs to spare.
