CAMROSE AC fished their latest match at Soke Road Lake, where Chris Barret scored with 45lb of carp on pole and bread, Paul Bassinder made second place with 33lb of carp on pole and pellet, Darren (Dodgy) Brown utilised worm over ground bait for his 33lb 8oz of carp, Paul Hunt made up the frame with 26lb 12oz. Seventeen fished and caught.

Staceys Match Group’s latest fixture was at Dandys Ford and it was retired tackle dealer Kevin Roberts who topped out with 135lb of carp on pole and caster, Staceys Supremo Keith Brown’s 126lb of carp was a pole and maggot affair(what else) whilst Dan Butler’s 8lb of carp fell to pole and paste. Ten fished and caught.

Kennet Osprey’s silver fish only match at Watmore Farm saw Malcolm Vigor win with 23lb 9oz of roach and perch on pole, ground bait and maggot, Mark Parsons used pole, caster and maggot for his 21lb 4oz of mixed silvers, Phil Rogers 18lb 14oz was a caster and ground bait affair. Ten fished and all caught.

Kennet Osprey’s recent match at Witherington Farm put Doug Wright in the driving seat with 56lb 12oz of carp caught on worm over ground bait, Dwayne Seed’s 55lb 12oz was a pole and pellet affair, whilst Nigel Cornwell put 51lb 13oz in the net on pole and pellet, Gerry Nickells weighed in 51lb 9oz. Sixteen fished and caught.

The Oddballs Match fished at New Barlows on Saturday last was won by Steve Shepherd with 41lb 7oz, Pete Wooldridge made second spot on 32lb 5oz with Keith Brown on 21lb 12oz for third.

This annual event is in memory of Tony Skeats, Terry Burt, Mick Brown and Alfie Noon, who are no longer with the angling fraternity, such was the diverse personalities of the foursome oddballs was the obvious name for the trophy and match. The match winnings, the barbecue takings were all donated to St Michaels Hospice,
