WINKLEBURY Junior School is delighted that four of their pupils have been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Laser-run Championships in Budapest in September.
At the British Championships Lily Stenning won the silver medal in the under-nine age group as well as the team gold.
Charlie Mead finished in fifth place and George Eardley in eighth in the under 11s and they also picked up the team gold.
Also under-11 is Brooke Clover who qualified in 10th place.
The children started laser-running during a club at school and this was only their 2nd competition.
Michelle Matson a HLTA at Winklebury and teach them PE and also coach the laser-run club said: “We are so very proud of them and will definitely be continuing laser-run club next year to give more pupils a chance to compete and see what they can achieve.”
