ROTHERWICK ITW eased their Hampshire League Regional One North East worries with an eight wicket win at home to Herriard in one of the few games in north Hampshire to beat the weather last Saturday.

Some very good bowling throughout led by Harry Bailey (3-9) and Tim Culver (3-13) supported by some very good fielding including stunning catches from Jon Wheeler and Chris Bradshaw squeezed the life out out of Herriard who were restricted to just 83 from their 40 overs.

Rotherwick knocked off the required runs for the loss of just two wickets to record their first win since the first of June.

Paul Buckingham 21 and Josh Terry 20 not out were Rotherwick's top scorers in the victory.

The only other game in the division to survive the weather saw Overton II (132) lose by 79 runs to Crown Taverners.

Leaders Kingsclere's clash with fifth placed AWE Tadley was a victim of the weather, as was second placed Whitchurch's home game against St Mary's.

Odiham and Greywell seconds trip to East Woodhay seconds and Oakley's away game at Ropley II and Hartley Wintney IIIs game against St Mary Bourne all went the same way. All the games involving local sides in Regional Division Two North East were all wiped out by the weather.

This included third placed Sherfield-on-Loddon visit from leaders Sparsholt thirds.
