BASINGSTOKE Strikers will be hoping to enjoy victory for the first time in their home tournament which takes place at the War Memorial Park on Sunday, August 4.

This popular event is now an annual tournament and teams from right across the south of England including from Andover, the Isle of Wight and Feltham.

The action on the Sunday gets under way at 10 am with group games and finishes at 3pm.

Admission is free to come along and watch and there is also free parking at the Crossborough Hill Car Park

There will also be a adults men’s tournament running alongside it and there will be the usually stalls, barbecue and refreshments available.

The Strikers will be hoping they can build on their success at the Saints Foundation Pan Disability tournament played at Eastleigh earlier this summer.

The Basingstoke Strikers first team held strong winning two penalty shoot-outs in the semi-final and final to take the title.

This was a great achievement for this self-funded adult special needs team, who with the help of volunteer coaches, drivers and fans, managed to take a 21 players to the event in Eastleigh.
