IN FORM Greenridge Farm was the venue for Adventure’s latest match, and Robin Guppy made the most of it, winning with 181lb 6oz of carp on pole and pellet up in the water. Match secretary Nick Sargent put 131lb 14oz in the sack on pole and meat, Peter Fincham utilised pole and paste for his 122lb, whilst Mark Blackmon caught 112lb 4oz. Seventeen fished a high scoring match and caught.

Fifteen Kennet Ospreys went to Willow Park Small Lake on Sunday last, where evergreen Pat Hollies rolled back the years and won with 84lb 11oz of carp on pole, paste and method feeder, John Jackson fished with long pole and pellet for his second placed 66lb 9oz of carp, Les Humphries used assorted methods and baits for his 49lb 15oz, followed by Mark (Red) Funnel who caught 47lb 3oz on pole and pellet. Fifteen fished and weighed.

Camrose AC took themselves to Old Barlows Lake for their match, where Paul Bassinder scored with 15lb 6oz of carp and bream on pole and pellet, match secretary Pip Seeny caught 12lb 2oz of mixed on pole and pellet whilst Chris Barrett caught 11lb 15oz on pole and worm. Thirteen fished and caught.

Oxoid AC were at Witherington Farm on Selwood Lake last Sunday and Geoff North made it pay with 112lb 6oz of carp and bream on pole and pellet.

Del Baulsom put 88lb of mixed in the sack on pole and worm, Pete Lovegrove caught 80lb 11oz on pole and maggot. Nine fished and caught.

The late Fred Hicks was a good angler and a super granddad, and a junior match for his grandchildren was run at Cheriton Farm on Saturday last.

Thirteen year old Ellen Hicks weighed in 47lb 8oz on pole and maggot.

Fifteen year old Amelia Hicks caught 37lb, nine year old Bobby Hicks weighed in 23lb 9oz.

Fred was also a super plumber as the pipework in my house will bear out.
