KINGSCLERE moved to the top of the Hampshire League Regional One North East as they won a low scoring encounter at Rotherwick ITW.

The visitors won the toss and decided to bat and they were dismissed for 129 with Freddie Gee top scoring with 27, which included three sixes. Phil Mitchell was the pick of the home bowlers with 4-23.

In reply, Rotherwick found Harry Murtagh (3-7) and Gee (3-8) too hot to handle, while wicketkeeper Jack Grove-White took four catches and a stumping.

Mark Hirst also took three wickets and a fine run out from Murtagh completed the job as Rotherwick were all out for 67. Kyle Frost top scored with 29 and skipper Graham Hooper carried his bat with 13 not out.

AWE Tadley (189-9) slipped to second, as they lost by six wickets to East Woodley (190-4) as Will Belfield scored 93.
