HOOK and Newnham Basics second string moved to top spot of the Hampshire League County Division One after they won at OTs and Romsey by 69 runs.
The visitors scored 243-7 as Harry Warner hit an excellent 91 after opener Charlie Neville hit 47.
Romsey were then bowled out for 174, as captain Kevin Light excelled with ball and took 5-33 supported by Max Simpson and Ryan Connor 2-40.
Mark Porter hit an unbeaten 62 in Old Basing's 173, but they lost by eight wickets at Ropley.
