THE Staceys Angling Club teams of Four Charity Match took place on Sunday last at Whitehouse, Old Barlows, New Barlows and Soke Road Lakes.

Top team on the day was Adventure’s Northern Numpties with 42 points out of a possible 48 points. The team consisted of Dave Stratford-Way, Robin Guppy, Gary Knight and Mike Allan. Second team was Adventure’s Southern Softies who scored 36.5 points, Camrose White took third spot with 31 points, the same total as Adventure Eastern Bloc, but countback proved favourable for Camrose.

Individually the lake placings were Soke Road, Darren (Dodgy) Brown 123lb of carp on pole and worm, Robin Guppy 48lb 2oz of carp on pole and pellet.

Whitehouse Lake gave Jason (The Paste) Marcham the win with 76lb of carp, Rob Frost was second on 72lb 8oz.

New Barlows saw Kevin Holmes top out on 65lb 12oz of mixed on pole and worm just edging Mike Allan on an even 64lb.

Old Barlows put Nick Sargent in pole position with 28lb 7oz from Scott (Meatloaf Nelson’s 20lb 8oz.

The competition raised £1,120 for St Michaels Hospice thanks to the generosity of the anglers taking part, thanks to Staceys Angling Club for supplying the waters and after match barbeque, and as ever to Staceys Supremo Keith Brown for putting it all together.

The only other local match last week was Ospreys trip to Dandys Ford where Steve Hunt drew well and won well with 95lb 4oz of carp on pole and pellet.

Simon Coombs 78lb 10oz of carp was a clever catch from an off form peg, using paste under pole, Steve Shepherd made third spot wit his 52lb 14oz on pole and pellet. Sixteen fished and caught.
