HOOK and Newnham Basics seconds won their third against fourth clash in the Hampshire League County Division One as they moved up to second.

Hook faced a tough looking clash against their north Hampshire rivals Andover twos and batting first scored 211-9 thanks to a fine 56 from Jo Allnutt and Luke Simpson's 42.

The visitors were then bowled out for 115, as Kevin Light and Josh Balcombe each took four wickets each.

Old Basing moved up to tenth after a 64-run over visiting Longparish.

The home side scored 229-5, thanks to Ben Ungaretti 85 not out and Tom Jackson 61 and then the visitors were bowled out for 165.

Adam Scher again excelled with bat and ball for Odiham and Greywell as they won at Rowledge II (104) by seven wickets, as they remain fourth in Division Two.

Scher took 3-17 and then scored 57 in the visitor’s winning score of 105-3.

Callum Coombs hit 58 as Basingstoke and North Hants thirds scored 223 and in reply Sarisbury II made 194-5.

James Roberts had a great all-round performance for Ashford Hill, as they recorded their first win in County Four North this season.

Roberts took 3-40 as visitors Compton scored 189-5.

Roberts then hit 70 and was well supported by Matthew Pedley 58 not out as Ashford made 191-4.

Basingstoke fourths shot out visiting Rowledge III for just 54 thanks to Jake Finchen 2-5, Matthew Griffiths 2-5 and Neil Shelar 2-8.

The home side then passed their target losing four wickets.

Steve Cates took 2-17 For Hook fourths, but it could stop Wherwell making a match winning 133-3. Earlier, Hook scored 132-9.

Old Basing’s seconds scored 252-6 as John Huntingdon top scored with 82. Longparish seconds chasing the total finished on 199-8.

In the Regional Division Two North East, Mark Ridley took 5-24 as Tichborne III were bowled out for 153. This was chasing Ashfield Hill seconds 197-9, as Jack Ballard top scored with 88 and Ridley got 55.
