PETER Raynbird who recently announced his retirement after 66 years with the Basingstoke and District League was honoured at the Annual General Meeting of the Hampshire FA.

The county FA's president John Benfield presented an engraved plate to Peter Raynbird, in appreciation of his outstanding service to the Basingstoke and District Football League.

Peter is not turning his back completely on football and has taken on the figurehead post as president of the new Basingstoke Town Community Football Club.

Town have confirmed their full list of pre-season fixtures ahead of their campaign in the Southern League Division One which starts on August 10.

The Dragons will start on July 6 (3pm) against Burnham at Bisham.

A week later, they will face the Met Police, who just missed out on promotion to the National League South last season.

This is being played at the Aldershot Military ground, which has no spectator facilities The club's only home friendly is on Tuesday, July 16 (7.45pm) against Luton Town at Winchester City's ground, the venue for their home games ahead of their move into Winklebury.

On Saturday, July 20, Town have a double header against Camberley with the Academy in action at 1pm and the first team's clash at 3pm.

On July 23 (7.45pm), the side are on their travel to Eastbourne Borough and then on Saturday, July 27 make the trip to Wessex League Premier outfit Bashley in a Trevor Parker Memorial match.

Their last game of July is on the 30th at Binfield and the team's final friendly will be at Isthmian League South Central Division side Marlow on Saturday, August 3 (3pm).
