HARTLEY Wintney Cricket Club will play host to the Hampshire county team in the annual charity T20 match on the historic cricket green on Friday, June 28.

It is one of the highlights of the local social and sporting calendar as Hampshire always bring a strong side to entertain which is expected to once again be a bumper crowd that surround the boundaries.

The club marquee has already sold out but admission to the match is free so it’s a good idea to get their early for a fun day.

As Adrian Jones, the charity match chairman said: “Whether it’s a gazebo on the green, a blanket on the boundary or a pint in the pavilion, come and show your support for your County team, village cricket and our chosen charities, Dove House School and Hampshire Cricket in the Community.”

He added: “A massive thanks should go to Heckfield Place for their sponsorship this year and he whole day is hosted by local, former England Test and One Day international, Shaun Udal."

The bars open at noon and the match starts at 3 pm.

Before the village side can concentrate on their clash with the county side, there is the little matter of a Southern League Division Two trip to Totton and Eling.
