BASINGSTOKE Town will face Championship side Luton Town in a pre season friendly game next month.

The Dragons will take on a side who have achieved back-to-back promotions in 2018 and 2019 at Winchester City’s ground on Tuesday, July 16 (7.45pm).

The game was part of the deal which saw striker Aaron Jarvis transferred to the Hatters back in the autumn of 2017.

Terry Brown chairman of the community club said: “We must thank Winchester City for staging this friendly for us and we will be playing our home league games there, before we move to Winklebury later this calendar year.

“They have started to lay the pitch at Winklebury so it just remains to see how long it takes to get the necessary grading, but everything is going in the right direction.”

Other pre-season friendlies for Town involve away games at Camberley (July 20), Eastbourne Borough (July 23) and Binfield (July 30).
