CAPTAIN Kevin Light led by example with an unbeaten 118 as Hook and Newnham Basics IIs won a high scoring contest in the Hampshire County Division One.
Light and Daniel Moore (77) shared a third wicket stand of 170 and Ben Allnutt hit 40 from 24 balls in Hook's 266-3.
Hursley Park fell 17 runs short on 249-9 as Light led the way again with 3-58.
Old Basing returned the winning ways as Darren Turner (73) and Nick Willcock (44) put on 118 for third wicket.
Visiting Ryde had their target reduced to 217 off 47 overs, but were bowled out for 126 as Euan Rixson (4-17) and Nick Cooper (3-37) did the damage.
Adam Scher hit 104 as Odiham and Greywell scored 243-7.
Due to rain Bournemouth II's total was reduced to 219 and were bowled out for 211 as Dan Walker took 5-28 in the Division Two clash.
Basingstoke and North Hants (201-8) lost by four wickets to leaders Redlynch and Hale.
