BASINGSTOKE Gymnastic Club is celebrating its first medal in the Mens Artistic British Championships for 20 years thanks to Issa Kalfon.
A group of the club’s men’s artistic gymnasts to the M&S Arena, Liverpool hoping for success and they were not disappointed.
In the under 18’s category, Kalfon and Sebastian Herbert both had an excellent competition.
Kalfon performed a routine that put him amongst the top 15 performers for most apparatus.
He also won the individual medal bronze medal on floor - the clubs first British medal in Artistic Gymnastics in 20 years.
Kalfon finished his all around placing in the top 10, a huge improvement from previous years.
Herbert was very consistent by competing all but one of his routines without any major errors, a big improvement on his results in the English and Scottish Championships with 20th position.
In the under-14 category, Christian Amison and Ellis Down performed well to finish in the middle of the field in categories up to 74 gymnasts.
Luke Everett and Jamie Iamsamang finished in 22nd and 51st position in another big category of 74 gymnasts.
Coaches Joe Fraser and Georgi Dyankov were delighted with the results.
