SIX girls from the Aerobic Gymnastics Squad travelled to the Lithuanian Open to represent Great Britain as part of the Southern Region Team.

It was a really tough competition with categories as large as 60 plus gymnasts.

Being the first competition of the year, the girls went out with personal goals as targets and surprised themselves and the coaches with a huge increase of scores putting them in good stead for their competition year.

Lily Harris, Elodie Sheppard, Elizabeth Marais and Emerald Cundy all placed into finals for the last day of competition upping their places from qualifications by first and second places, a record breaker for the Basingstoke Aerobics Team internationally.

Starr Hockham just missed out on finals with gymnasts being knocked out with only two gymnasts per nation being able to compete in the finals but did a fantastic job with a PB and finishing 11th position in a big category.

Summer-Lily Blackburn, Keleigh-Anne Blakey and Elizabeth Marais went into a straight final for the trio event where the girls performed a bond themed routine which earned them the silver medal. Coaches Amy and Zanna Woods were very proud of the whole team who excelled expectation.
