THE Basingstoke Bison have beefed up their blue line with the re-signing of top defenceman Adam Jones.

This is the second re-signing for the Herd this week, following on from the news that utility player Liam Morris will also return in the autumn.

Top British blue liner Jones is back for a second campaign with the Herd and last season he led the blue line scoring with 36 points scoring seven times with his bullet shot.

His ability did not go unnoticed across the league and he was voted onto the All Star second team for South One.

Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: “Adam was a big piece of the puzzle and one of the top defenceman in our league and I would have voted for him for the all star team if I could have done so, but you can’t vote for your own players.

“I think being his second year in Basingstoke he will be even better this season.”

Jones, who hails from Birmingham, arrived last season from the Telford Tigers having also played 11 games in the Elite League with Guildford and Belfast and the 23-year-old is a former Great Britain junior international.
