Saints are in the race to sign Harry Wilson for £25 million, according to Sky Sports News.

The 22-year-old is currently gearing up for Derby's EFL Championship play-off final against Aston Villa on Monday.

Wilson has spent the season on loan with the Rams from Liverpool, scoring 18 goals in 52 games.

One of those finishes came against Saints in the FA Cup third round replay at St Mary's, a game that Derby won on penalties after extra time.

Ralph Hasenhuttl's side are one of three clubs interested in signing the youngster on a permanent deal from Liverpool this summer.

Sky Sports News have reported that Premier League rivals Brighton and Newcastle United are keen to negotiate a deal for Wilson.

It's also claimed that should Crystal Palace sell star player Wilfried Zaha, then they will join the race for the 22-year-old's signature.

Wilson scored in Derby's 4-2 win over Leeds in the second leg of their play-off semi-final to send Frank Lampard's team into Monday's showpiece.

The winger came to prominence this season when he netted a stunning free-kick during the Rams' shock win over Manchester United in the Carabao Cup.

Derby are also said to want to sign the ace on a permanent deal but that will depend on whether they beat Aston Villa and earn promotion to the Premier League.
