Saints have been linked with a sensational move for former player Adam Lallana, according to the Daily Express.

The report claims that the Liverpool man has told friends of his plans to leave and is open to the idea of a £13 million St Mary’s return.

Lallana, who is a product of the Saints academy, left the club back in 2014.

This came after helping take them from League One back into the Premier League, where he captained them to an eighth-place finish.

However, his £25 million move to Liverpool turned sour due to allegations that he refused to play, although he strenuously denied these claims.

Once he was made aware of the Anfield side’s interest, Lallana asked the club to come to an agreement with them so that he could leave.

The 31-year-old has struggled to make any sort of impact at Liverpool this season, making only 16 appearances.

Lallana’s progress over the last two campaigns have been hampered by issues with his hamstring which, according to the report, is causing concern for Saints.

During his time on the south coast, the Bournemouth lad played over 250 times for Saints, scoring 48 times.
