THE Basingstoke Bison have re-signed two of their top forwards for next season, with the news that import Richard Bordowski and Brit George Norcliffe will both be back.

Bordowski led the team in goals with 28 in all competition and Norcliffe was not far behind him with 22 in their first campaigns with the Herd.

It was also Bordowski’s first ever season in Britain and like Norcliffe he soon became a fans’ favourite.

Bison player/coach Ashley Tait is delighted to add the high scoring duo back for another campaign and said: “Richard would have been our top points scorer if it was not for injury. He is a very good skater with a decent touch around the net."

Norcliffe won the club's most improved player award last season and Tait said: "George had a great season for us. He is able to take the puck to the net and I think we will see even more from him next season."

Also this week the Herd have learned their captain of last season Russ Cowley will not be back as he signed for the Milton Keynes Lightning.

He has departed with the club's blessing having had a big commute to play in Hampshire last season.
