HOLDERS Hartley Wintney were knocked out of this year's Aldershot Senior Cup at Camberley Town as they lost a semi-final penalty shoot-out 6-5 after the game ended 1-1.

The Surrey side will now play Knaphill at Aldershot on Monday May 5 in the final.

Hartley started well and went ahead after three minutes. Louie Paget made good progress down the left before passing to Sal Abubakkar.

As the winger entered the penalty box he was hauled down and a penalty awarded. Jack Ball stepped up and scored.

The Krooners responded and their direct approach proved effective on a hard surface.

Camberley pulled level at the start of the second half.

A long free kick from Josh Stepney saw the Row struggle to clear their lines and Garstang shot home from the edge of the box.

The Row pushed Jack Ball into attack for the last half hour and coupled with the introduction of Ty Smith gave them an edge.

On 75 minutes a Smith free-kick was saved by Richard Ossai in the Krooners goal.

Another free kick from Smith four minutes later saw Ossai push the ball onto the crossbar. Three minutes from time a cross from Smith saw Abubakkar cut the ball back to Ball who saw his effort saved by Ossai. Play immediately switched to the other end and Paul Strudley had to be alert to block an effort from Jamie Hoppitt.

Extra time produced few chances the nearest being a Steve Duff shot which went just past the post.

So the game went to penalties the first 10 were all converted with Nic Ciardini, Marley Ridge, Louie Paget, Sal Abubakkar and Jack Ball successful for the Row.

The Krooners matched them with success from Carl Garstang, Stepney, Dan Jewell, Marcus Cousins and Brad Smith.

Josh Webb then saw his spot kick saved by Ossai before Ben Hutchings converted the winning penalty to win the tie for Camberley.

Hartley return to league action on Saturday with a home game against Beaconsfield on Saturday and then on Easter Monday they are away at Swindon Supermarine.
