MFC Popley Youth completed a tremendous treble for this season after they beat East Berks League Cup success over Curley Park Rangers at Binfield.

This was the third trophy the under-16 side had won in as many weeks following on from clinching the East Berks League title and a Hampshire Cup final victory over Eastleigh.

Against Curley Park Popley started the game with plenty of the possession, their opponents game plan being to sit back and play on the counter attack .

After 15 minutes, Popley created a chance moving the ball from left to right, and finding space for a shot on the edge of the box where Adam Poynter slotted the ball in at the near post.

Curley responded immediately with a long ball over the top to their striker, but Huw Holliman racing off his line stood up strong and made a superb save pushing the ball away for a corner.

The second half started much the same and on 51 minutes a high cross from Shay Barham was fumbled by the on rushing goalkeeper and fell to Poynter who scored through a crowd of Curley defenders to make it 2-0.

Popley now looked to see the game out, but Curley still cause problems with Holliman again coming to the rescue with a fantastic double save inside the six-yard area as Pople won the final 2-0.

In the Hampshire Cup final, Pople enjoyed a superb 4-0 victory against Eastleigh.

A cagey first half saw no goals, but after the interval Popley immediately started strongly and on 55 minutes got their reward when Calum Willis beat an Eastleigh defender to the ball to go one-on-one on with the goalkeeper, who made a great first save only for the ball to rebound back to Willis to slot home.

Soon after a clever free-kick from Shay Barham played in Adam Poynter, who crossed the ball for Max Ashby to finish.

Eastleigh tried hard to get back into the game but Popley were resilient and had a hold of the game man for man all over the pitch.

In the 65th minute, Matt Fulton scored with a fine strike from another Poynter assist and Popley's fourth came from an own goal after good pressure from Calum Willis.

The man of the match went to Max Ashby who was outstanding on the day.
