BASINGSTOKE Strikers won the Saints Foundation Pan Disability tournament played at Eastleigh in the glorious sunshine.

In total seven teams that took part two from Basingstoke, as well as sides from Eastleigh, Andover, Winchester and two Isle of Wight teams.

Basingstoke’s first team held strong and finally triumphed after winning the semi-final after it ended 3-3.

Then in the final the Strikers held their nerve again winning a shoot-out after the games ended 2-2.

This was a great achievement for this self-funded adult special needs team, who with the help of volunteer coaches, drivers and fans, managed to take a 21 players to the event in Hampshire.

The Strikers second team also were in action in Eastleigh and manage an impressive fourth place.

Once again this summer, the Basingstoke Strikers will be holding their own annual tournament on Sunday August 4 and once again it will be in the War Memorial Park.
