MARTIAL Arts won the fight in both team categories taking the junior title thanks to Su-Ha-Ri-Karate, while the adult title went to Basingstoke Kickboxing Organisation.

The Su-Ha-Ri team competed in many domestic and international competitions throughout the year, winning a number of titles.

The team helped Wado International Karate-Do Federation (WIKF) become the top fighting federation in Britain.

A highlight of the year included six team members being selected to represent England at the WIKF European Championships in Portugal as three returned as champions.

Kevin McAuslan-Crine, coach of the team, said: “ I am really pleased for the team, they were amazing last year.

“They helped WIKF to be the best in England and Britain and we did really well in the Europeans.

“We now are working hard for the World Championships this year which are in Crawley which means there is no problems with funding to get people to compete so we should have a good turn out.”

Basingstoke Kickboxing Organisation won the senior crown as a reward for the fighters and coaches dedicated to developing excellence and to competing in this dynamic sport.

Team members train several times a week and travel to compete on a weekly basis across the country and abroad.

Members won golds in all major tournaments they entered in 2018.
