NINETEEN Camrose AC members were at Soke Road Lake on Sunday last where Chris (Rabbit) Barret put 36lb 6oz of carp in the sack to top out, using pole and maggot.

Adrian Bartle caught 21lb 3oz of mixed on pole and maggot, the same method that Jason The Paste Marcham utilised for his 19lb 4oz of carp whilst Pat Finn made up the minor placings with 18lb 12oz. Nineteen fished and Pip Seeny blanked.

Adventure AS fished their own Willow Pool last Sunday and it was Graham Spiller who sorted it best with 59lb 10oz of carp on the pellet waggler.

Bartosz Recki fished with pole and mag for his carp and bream bag weighing 49lb 8oz. Graham (Shaggy) Shadwell caught 29lb 12oz of allsorts on the pellet wag and bomb, Steve Palmers 26lb 4oz made up the frame. Fifteen fished and caught.

Kennet Ospreys went to an off form Dandys Ford Fishery for their latest fixture and Mark Parsons got it right catching an even 13lb of carp on pole and maggot.

Steve (I never moan) Shepherd caught three carp on three different baits for his 11lb 11oz and Peter Wooldridge caught 11lb 6oz for third place, not much to write home about after that. Ten fished and caught.

This week Ospreys are going to Willow Park, Camrose are at Soke Road and Adventure are going to Crowsports Fishery.

The highlight for most anglers on Ospreys dour Dandys Ford match last Sunday was the sight of club chairman Maurice Parsons standing in the centre of the island in his colourful boxer shorts, Maurice had unfortunately fallen in much to the mirth of everyone, the resultant tidal wave made a dozen mallards homeless and raised the depth of the lake by several inches.

On a more serious note platforms are wonderful to fish from, but can become slippery in the wet or if there is a frost, thankfully Maurice came to no harm and continued fishing in his undergarments.

Catch me next week.
