ALEX Mettam was denied a shut-out in Milton Keynes as the Thunder scored in the final two minutes as the Herd won 5-1 on Sunday night.
The visitors dominated the game from start to finish with former Basingstoke Buffalo netminder Jordan Lawday in great form as he faced 53 shots.
The Bison opened the scoring at 15:17 as Alex Sampford scored assisted by Adam Jones and Adam Harding.
Two minutes later, Michal Klejna doubled this advantage as he finished a move involving Chris Cooke and Ashley Tait,
The Herd extended their lead to 3-0 with their final powerplay of the evening as man of the match Russ Cowley scored.
The Herd then added two more in the final session with Hallam Wilson getting the first from Tom Ralph and then Klejna scoring assisted by Liam Morris and Jay King.
MK broke Alex Mettam's shut-out as former Bison player Ross Bowers struck at 58:11.
This weekend, the Herd have a massive weekend as they face a double header top of the table clash with the Swindon Wildcats.
