AFTER last weekend’s superb cup semi-final success the Bison have their sights on some more silverware and retaining the South One crown.

Their quest continues on Saturday (6.30pm) when early leaders Peterborough Phantoms are the visitors to Basingstoke.

Then on Sunday night (6.45pm) they travel to Milton Keynes to take on the Thunder.

The Herd lead the series over the Phantoms 3-2 after losing the first two.

Adding extra spice is this could be the South Cup final match-up, after Peterborough won their semi-final first leg 6-3 last Sunday over Bracknell.

Forward Hallam Wilson is a doubt for the weekend and Saturdays night's game will once again be another barnstormer.

Peterborough are currently third in the table with 46 points from 30 games. The Herd are second with 48 points from 31 games and Swindon lead the way with 49 points from 32 games.

Looking ahead to another big clash Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: "All our games with Peterborough have been close affairs and I expect another battle on Saturday."

The Herd will not be taking Sunday’s MK trip lightly as last time they lost after shoot-out.

Last weekend, MK won on home ice 4-1 against Streatham as Basingstoke-born Jordan Lawday was beaten just once in 62 shots.

Tait said: "At this point of the season we cannot afford to have a night off and the guys know this."
