THE Basingstoke Bison will be hoping to make it a purr-fect weekend at the the expense of the Swindon Wildcats as the sides clash in South Cup semi-final.

The first game is in Swindon on Saturday evening (6.15pm) with the return in Basingstoke on Sunday (5.30pm).

The Wildcats are the current league leaders after six wins on the trot, while the Herd have won their last five and moved up to second in the table last Sunday as Ashley Tait’s hat-trick inspired them to victory at Peterborough.

These sides have already met three times this season and Swindon lead the series 2-1.

They won the last game between these sides, which was in Basingstoke, but only 4-3.

Looking ahead to the weekend Bison player/coach Ashley Tait said: “We are getting some momentum going now and know it will be a couple of really tight games.

A bumper crowd is expected for Sunday’s game in Basingstoke, as it is part of the Bison season ticket after the demise of Cardiff from the league in the summer.

The winners will face either Bracknell or Peterborough in the final.
