JASON Newman scored a hat-trick for the Basingstoke Buffalo as they enjoyed their biggest win of the season beating the visiting Lee Valley Lions 8-2.
The home side took just a minute to take the lead from Cameron Buckle and Sam Brooks made it 2-0 by 5:50.
The second session saw Warren Jones extended the lead further, before the Lions opened their account, but 36 seconds later Newman netted his first and the same player made it 5-1 by the second break, assisted by Josh Richards.
Just 14 seconds into the final period. Mark Austen converted a pass from Marcus Russell.
Brooks then scored his second of the game, followed by Newman's hat-trick strike.
Lee Valley wrapped up the scoring three minutes from time.
Their next game is at home on Sunday (6.15pm) to the Solent Devils, who include former Buffs stars Mark Pitts and Daniel Lackey.
