BASINGSTOKE Town were denied a victory on New Year's Day as visiting Farnborough scored an equaliser in the 92nd minute.

The home side added new signings defender Aiden Harris from Town's Academy and forward Ollie Harris from Burnham.

The first 45 minutes sees Town have the better of things in this Hampshire derby game.

A cross from Rob Gerrard finds the head of Sam Deadfield, but the ball bounces over the bar.

Soon after, Dean Stow and Sam Smart combine for Deadfield to send the ball across the goal mouth, but no one touches the ball home.

Just before the break, the visitors go close as Colm McAdden is forced to save with his legs.

Town took the lead after 56 minutes, Stow strikes a free-kick straight at the wall and then with a superb volley sends the rebound into the roof of the net.

Soon after, McAdden makes a great save to keep the score 1-0 On 78 minutes, Town are given a great chance to win the game, when Smart is taken down in the area, but Stow fires the spot kick high over the bar.

Then two minutes into injury time at the end of the game, the visitors grab their late equaliser from Perry Coles.

Town are now 19th in the table and travel to Hartley on Saturday for a league encounter.
