THE Basingstoke Bison scored three unanswered goals in the final period to run out 5-2 winners over the visiting Invicta Dynamos on Saturday night.

It extended their winning home record to nine games, but they certainly did not have it all their own way against the side bottom of the table.

The visitors took the lead in the contest in the third minute, when man of the match Owen Dell converted Ondrej Zosiak’s rebound.

The Herd hit back as Tom Ralph skated down the rink and fed George Norcliffe to level things at 8:40.

This goal signalled the annual Teddy Bear Toss as cuddly toys were thrown onto the ice by the Bison faithful.

The home side then had the better of the rest of the period and took the lead thanks to Paul Petts.

The second session carried on like the first, with plenty of Bison chances but Invicta netminder Conor Morris kept them out and then his team mates equalised at 28:42.

Once again, it was Dell, who was the man on target and worst was to follow as Brandon Miles netted a breakaway chance to make it 3-2.

The Herd called a time-out and managed to get back on track, but still trailed by a single goal at the second buzzer.

The first powerplay of the final session, saw the Bison tie the game as man of the match Michal Klejna fired home at 42 minutes exactly.

The Slovak sniper then struck again three minutes later to make it 4-3.

It was left to fellow import Richard Bordowski to net his own rebound to complete the victory.
