FOLLOWING the AGM of Basingstoke Town Community Football Club, Terry Brown has become the new chairman.
The Community Club was formed last year to take over ownership of the Town’s football club on the sale of the Camrose Ground.
Brown said ‘I am really excited by this new challenge which is designed to secure the survival of the Town’s football club.
“There is lots of hard work to be done in a short period of time with the aim of playing at Winklebury next season.
"I want to engage with schools, businesses and of course fans and people across the town to ensure the new club is truly community based.
“We shall be giving publicity shortly to a number of initiatives.”
Other members of the Community Club Board are Martin French, Richard Hooley, Katie Oliver, Sarah Parsons, Colin Phillimore, Denise Williams and Steve Williams.
On the field Basingstoke are on their travels on Saturday to King’s Langley in the league and then on Tuesday they are in Hampshire Senior Cup action at Hartley Wintney.
Looking to avenge Tuesday' night's 3-1 loss at the Camrose in the league.
Midfielder Dan Collier is expected to be fir for Saturday and Sam Smart is also expected to return after a trail at League One side Sunderland.
He played on Monday night for their under-23 side against Middlesbrough and was won the Black Cats a penalty.
Brown said: "We did not had a good November in the league, so lets hope December is better for us."
