THE Basingstoke Bison enjoyed a double winning weekend, as they beat the Raiders 6-5 after a remarkable comeback on home ice and followed this up with a 4-2 win at Streatham.

The Herd got off to a great start against the visiting Raiders as Ashley Tait netted at 1:41 assisted by Paul Petts and Michael Klejna.

This proved the only goal of the first 20 minutes, but the second session saw the Raiders score five unanswered goals.

Liam Chong got the first at 28:10 and then Juraj Huska gave them the lead three minutes later.

Man of the match Callum Wells netted another at 33:08 and further strikes from Dan Scott and Brandon Aycliffe looked to have made the game safe.

However, the Bison had other ideas and especially Richard Bordowski who scored four times in the final 20 minutes.

The import started the comeback at 46:34 as a converted a pass from Liam Morris.

Then a penalty on former Bison captain Aaron Connolly, saw Bordowski scored again on the powerplay from Morris and Alex Sampford.

Bordowski completed his hat-trick as he tipped home a shot from Tom Ralph.

As the game entered the final minute, the Bison pulled their netminder and Sampford sent the home crowd wild, as he scored the game tying goal with 18 seconds left on the clock assisted by Klejna and Tait.

This send the game into overtime and Bordowski with this fourth of the night made sure of the win at 61:04, as Tait and Adam Jones picked up the helpers.

On Sunday night at Streatham, the Bison scored the only goal of the first period again as Sampford scored from Bordowski.

The second session saw the home side score twice from Adam Carr and Adam Wood to lead 2-1.

The Herd levelled the game thanks to a Bordowski's shorthanded striker as converted a pass from Russ Cowley.

The visitors then won the game thanks a final period brace from Hallam Wilson at 43:43 from Danny Ingoldsby and then Klejna netted from Tait and Cowley four minutes from time to complete the win.

The victory booked the Bison's place in the semi-finals of the South Cup, with one group game left which is against Bracknell at home on Saturday.
