BASINGSTOKE Hockey Club men’s firsts had a resounding win over the weekend, writes FORTUNE BELCHER.
The team won 4-1 against Sunbury and Walton Hawks with two goals being fired home by Grant Rouse.
Graham Garrett-Lang and Will Jewkes also scored a goal each to see Basingstoke home.
The men’s seconds struggled to find a win this week, losing 2-0 against Yateley, however it is a case of onwards to the next game for them.
The men’s thirds also suffered a defeat over the weekend, losing 2-1 to Salisbury, with Basingstoke’s single goal coming from Kyle McFee.
Basingstoke men’s fourths tried to hold their own but were unable to make inroads in their game and sadly lost 4-1 against Aldershot and Farnham.
Basingstoke’s consolation goal in the fixture came from most valued player Adam Smith.
The men’s fifths finished their game 2-0 winners against Aldershot and Farnham sixths.
The first goal came courtesy of a penalty corner, which Dave Cramer had no problem in converting, and the second goal came from a fantastic shot from Tommy Reading.
Basingstoke men’s sixths narrowly slumped to a 1-0 loss in their match up against Camberley.
