THE Basingstoke Bison completed an early season double over the Raiders, with a 4-3 victory in Romford on Sunday night.

The Herd had the better of the first session thanks to three powerplays.

The Raiders then opened the scoring at 23:32 from Liam Chong, but the Bison equalised, despite Hallam Wilson being in the sin bin as man of the match Richard Bordowski netted shorthanded.

The Herd then scored twice in the space of 42 seconds to lead 3-1 by 29:51.

Michal Klejna scored the first from Ashley Tait and then Wilson netted assisted by Liam Morris and Bordowski.

The Raiders pulled a goal back with the first of the final period from Flip Sedivy.

Within a minute, Alex Sampford made it 4-1 as he scored on the powerplay.

As the game came to a close, the Raiders pulled their netminder and helped by a penalty on Chris Cooke, they scored on the powerplay with 50 seconds left from Juraj Huska.

The home side then pulled their netminder again after a centre ice face-off, but were unable to force an equaliser.

This weekend, the Bison have only one game at home to the Milton Keynes Thunder on Saturday (6.30pm).

The Thunder won their first game of the season last night with a 4-3 win in Invicta.
