BASINGSTOKE Hockey Club Men’s first team beat Oxted III’s winning 3-0 thanks to goals from Alex Hope, Dean Record and Grant Rouse. 

The clash of the newly promoted second team and Petersfield, saw Petersfield win 2-0, while the thirds won 4-0 against Aldershot and Farnham.

The fourths took on Havant Vs and lost 4-1 thanks to a lone strike from Elliot Boyd. The fifths won 3-2 against Basingstoke’s sixths with the goals coming from Nick Dudman and Joseph Grice coupled with fantastic goal keeping from Clinton Leopold The Ladies first team went down 4-0 to Wimbledon, while the seconds drew 0-0 against Eastleigh, with the closest opportunity coming from Sarah Mainprise.

This week the ladies thirds lost 2-1 to Southampton University.

A series of short corners saw Southampton take the lead and despite some fantastic saves from most valued player of the match, Nicky Ball they made it 2-0. Basingstoke goal came from Annette McInnes.

The fourths won 2-1 against Poole with goals coming from Nicola Burridge and Sharon Holden.

The fifth team were 2-0 up up against IBM Nomads after 20 minutes as Sue Pett scored twice.

Basingstoke in the second half scored twice more from Sue Pett, before Toyah Jefferies scored their fifth. IBM Nomads netted a consolation, before Louise Crocker completed a 6-1 win.

The sixth team went to the New Forest and Megan Payne netted in a 3-1 loss.

The seventh side hit five in their first league game of the season against Portsmouth and Southsea IIIs thanks to goals from Izzy Hussey (2), Luci McCallum, Patricia Flynn and Bev MacKay.

The under-14 Ladies beat Aldershot and Farnham 7-0 as Maddy Ripton-Palmer, Megan Payne, Nell Raune and Katarina Pole all netted.
