REECE Topley has left Hampshire Cricket after an injury-blighted two years with the county.

The 24-year-old last featured for Hampshire in the Royal London One-Day Cup semi-final against Yorkshire in June.

After being left out of the cup final team at Lord’s he underwent surgery on his fifth back stress fracture in July.

Hampshire director of cricket, Giles White said: “Mid-way through the 2018 season Reece made it apparent that he wanted to pursue his career elsewhere – we wish him well.”

After fracturing a hand while batting on debut in 2016, Topley only played two more first-class matches for Hampshire, taking two wickets at 89 apiece in the longer form.

Topley, who signed a limited-overs contract in February, also took 23 white-ball wickets in 11 List A and seven T20 appearances -including 4-40 against Middlesex in June.
