PETERBOROUGH in the past has not been a happy hunting ground for the Bison and this proved to be the case on Sunday night, as they lost 5-2 to the Phantoms.

The victory saw the home side complete an 8-4 aggregate win over the Herd, to take the annual Billy Glover Memorial Trophy in this pre-season double header.

The first 20 minutes saw the Phantoms out shoot the visitors by two to one, but no goals were forthcoming.

As in the previous night's encounter Peterborough opened their account on the powerplay, as man of the match Ales Padelek scored his first of a hat-trick at 22:49.

Two minutes later, again with the man advantage as Phantoms' new signing Harry Ferguson found the net.

The Phantoms third powerplay goal of the period arrived just before the half way mark of the game, as Padelek netted his second of the evening.

Five minutes into the third period, the Herd replied with their own powerplay strike from Ashley Tait assisted by Michal Klejna and Adam Jones.

Just 69 seconds later, Peterborough added their fourth from Padelek, but within in minute on the powerplay again Tom Ralph, scored from Bison man of the match Richard Bordowski and Russ Cowley.

It was left to the home side to complete the match scoring at 47:47, as Glenn Billing scored.

This game ended the Bison's pre-season and on Saturday they open their Autumn Cup campaign with a home game against the Sheffield Steeldogs which starts at 6.30pm.
