ADVENTURE North topped the bill on the Basingstoke Championships last Sunday.

Fished over five venues with a man from each team in a venue, scoring 55 points out of 60 Adventure had a 13 point cushion over Ospreys Black with last year's winners Camrose Red losing out on second spot on count back. Adventure South scored 41 points.

Whitehouse Lake put Gary Knight in pole position with 79lb 12oz with Mark Blackmon on 66lb 6oz.

Willow Pool saw Graham Shadwell top out with 58lb 4oz with Steve Hunt second on 49lb.

Soke Road gave Colin Thomas the win with 78lb.

Robin Guppy was runner up on 39lb.

Nick Sargent won Old Barlows with 16lb 3oz from Scott Nelson who weighed in 12lb 2oz.

New Barlows saw Bartosz Recki in the driving seat with 42lb 12oz, Mike Allan caught 32lb 8oz for second place.

In total 60 anglers participated and raised in excess of £1,200 for St Michaels Hospice coupled with £1,440 raised on the last charity match, giving a total of over £2,500.

Thanks must go to all that took part and in particular to Stacey’s Supremo Keith Brown who organised the whole shebang, and the ladies who feed and watered everybody.

This coming Sunday, Adventure will be at Home Grange Farm, Crowthorne, Osprey are going to Bowsaw Lake, Basingstoke Railway Club will be fishing Soke Road and Pip Seeny of Camrose doesn’t know where he is yet which is par for the course.

I am now doing the bookings for Kennet Ospreys until further notice so contact me on 07916331424.
