THE Basingstoke and District Football League kick-off this weekend.

The Saturday Section will run with nine teams in each of their two divisions.

All clubs are reminded they must phone on their result and match report to the Saturday press officer Peter Raynbird on (01256) 464621 before 9 pm on Saturday evening.

The Sunday Section has a rise in teams, for the first time in six years and will start with 21 teams, 10 in Division One and 11 in Division Two.

Division One looks to be very competitive, with champions Republic of Chineham, Bramley Utd, New boys Tadley Tigers and Brookvale United, also promoted Team FC. The new boys to the league Brookvale Utd are an unknown team.

Division Two League will have four new teams, AFC Basing, AFC Laarsens, Chineham Cavaliers and South Ham Saints.

Chineham Athletic have changed their name to New Park Rangers.

The league make-up is as follows Division 1: Bramley Utd, Brookvale Utd, Chineham, Eastrop Eagles, Hampshire Irons, North Warnborough, Republic of Chineham, Soldiers Return, Tadley Tigers and Team FC

Division 2: AFC Basing, AFC Laarsens, New Park Rangers, Basingstoke Saints, Camrose Social, Chineham Cavaliers, Chineham Res, Kempshott, Overton Utd, Shallow End, South Ham Saints.

Opening weekend's fixtures are: SATURDAY: Division 1:AFC Aldermaston Res v Twentyten, Herriard Sports v Sherborne St John, Overton Utd A v Hook, Tadley Calleva A v AFC Berg.

Division 2: Basingstoke Ath v North Warnborough, Oakridge v AFC Aldermaston A , Twentyten Res v Overton Utd B.

SUNDAY: Division 1: Brookvale United v Chineham Res, Eastrop Eagles v Bramley Utd, Hampshire Irons v Team FC

North Warnborough v Tadley Tigers, Rep of Chineham v Soldiers Return

Division 2: AFC Laarsens v South Ham Saints, Basingstoke Rangers v Shallow End, Basingstoke Saints v Overton Utd, Camrose Social v Kempshott, Chineham Cavaliers v Chineham Res.
