OLD Basing secured promotion from Hampshire League County Two, as they finished third, despite being bowled out for 214 at Portsmouth and losing by 85 runs.

In the north Hampshire derby game Basingstoke and North Hants III (183) beat Odiham and Greywell (169), so finished seventh and Odiham 12th.

Kevin Light had a great day with bat and ball as Hook and Newnham Basics finished 12th in County Division One.

Light took 4-46 as Ropley were bowled out for 205. Hook won by four wickets as Light (53) was well supported by Jordan Hobday (50) and Alex Brown (50).

Ramsdell capped off a great season in County Division Three North securing fourth spot. Sam Holbrook hit 71 in their winning total of 305-7. Liphook and Ripsley II were then bowled out for 138 as Mark Morley took 3-27.

Hook III has to settle for fifth after losing to visiting champions Redlynch. The visitors scored 267-7 as Max Simpson took 3-30. Vinny Gardner then top scored with 56 as Hook made 175-8.

Hartley Wintney II (259-9) went down by five wickets to Steep and so finished ninth.
