BASINGSTOKE Hockey Ladies, Gemma Carswell and Sarah Mainprise both won gold medals in World Masters Competition for England in Barcelona.
Goalkeeper Gemma Carswell was part of the ladies over 35 Ladies’ squad, who were undefeated in the pool stage before beating Australia in the final 1-0.
Basingstoke firefighter Carswell said: “It was an honour and a great experience to play for my country.”
Sarah Mainprise was part of the over 55 ladies’ squad and said: “It was worth all the extra training and fitness to wear the England shirt and an honour to play for my country.”
Mainprise is one of six players who have won four consecutive World Cup gold medals.
