BASINGSTOKE and North Hants seconds made it two home wins on the bounce, after they defeated second place Rowledge in their Southern League Division Two clash.

The home side decided to bat and it did not look a good move as they were soon in trouble at 19-2.

Opener Dan Belcher (50) and Matt Deadman (18) got them back on track, before Belcher and Richard Vinn took the total into three figures.

Vinn (69) and Joe Oates (61) then added 107 for fifth wicket, before Oates departed after fine 66 ball innings which included seven fours and three sixs.

Top scorer Vinn, whose 85-ball knock had seen 10 fours followed one run later, making the score 214-6.

Graham Porter (12) and Greg Donaldson (25) then added an unbroken seventh stand worth 37 runs to take the score to 251-6.

The visitors were then bowled out for 200 as Fraser Wilson top scored with 66. He was one of four victims for Rakitha Perera (4-32), while opening bowling pair Chris Chandler and Porter took two wickets each, as at one stage Rowledge were 19-3.

The seconds on Saturday are away at Totton and Eling.
