BASINGSTOKE Town opened their pre-season with an magnificent 7-0 win at Wessex League outfit Alton Town.
The visitors were in control from the kick-off with summer signing Dean Stow firing just over from distance.
Tom Leggett was then denied one-on-one with the home goalie, before Sam Argent stole the ball from a defender and calmly slotted home.
Soon after Sam Deadfield set-up Argent again, but this time he sliced the ball over.
At half-time the visitors swapped their 11 players and went on a goal rush.
George Bennett added number two and Dan Collier from 25-yards out made it 3-0.
A Charlie Kennedy shot was then pushed over and Jack McKnight dragged a shot wide, before Bennett netted his second, as he tapped home a ball from Callum Bunting.
Harry Philby added number five and a Bunting penalty took the tally to six, before midfield trialist Ethan Burden completed the 7-0 scoreline.
This Saturday, Town are on their travels against with a trip to Burnham.
