PORTSMOUTH sailed away with all the points from Hartley Wintney, as they cruised to a 220-run victory.
The visitors batted first and on a blisteringly hot day made the home bowlers suffer in the field.
Fraser Hay (108) was their top scorer with Vikram Dawson adding 50 from number seven as the visitors scored a massive 326-9.
Dan Wrenn (4-73) was the home side’s top bowler, while Ben Earley (2-32) and Rhys Batcup (2-67) also picked up wickets.
Hartley were always up against chasing a massive target and at 90-4 they had a chance, but were bowled out for 106, as Andrew Marston took 5-18.
Earlier Fraser Hay helped himself to 3-28, while Jonny Kerr and Jamie Teale the top scorers for Hartley with 24 each.
This afternoon, Hartley are in Southern League T20 Cup action when Basingstoke and North Hants are the visitors.
