THRUXTON Circuit will reach a very special milestone next weekend – its 50th Anniversary Celebration – with the UK’s fastest circuit set to mark its half-century in style, and we have a chance for you to join in the festivities!

The first motorsport event to be held at Thruxton in its current guise took place in 1968, and five decades on, a whole host of single-seaters, sportscars and saloons are returning to the much-loved Hampshire venue for a spirited sprint down memory lane.

In addition to a jam-packed programme of races, the weekend will include a raft of eye-catching demo runs and static displays, car club reunions, skid pan passenger rides, a funfair, live music, overnight camping and fireworks and a spectacular aerial show from world-famous British Army parachute display team the Red Devils.

Famous faces will include 1992 Formula 1 World Champion Nigel Mansell, legendary motorsport commentator Murray Walker, British Touring Car Championship favourites Rob Austin and Rob Collard and Channel 4 F1 presenter Karun Chandhok.

Former F1 racer Chandhok will take to the track behind the wheel of Keke Rosberg’s 1983 Williams FW08C, which will both look and sound phenomenal as it scorches around Thruxton’s flat-out sweepers with its screeching V8 engine and wide rear tyres.

Mansell’s 1992 title-winning Williams FW14B will join the iconic Ford GT40 and the awe-inspiring Porsche 919 Hybrid Sports Prototype – as raced in the Le Mans 24 Hours – on display in the paddock.

More information can be found at www.thruxtonracing.co.uk/racing/50th-anniversary, with advance tickets available from just £12 for Saturday June 2 and £15 for Sunday June 3 .

However, for your chance to win a pair of weekend passes (worth a total of £48), simply correctly answer the following question: Whose iconic F1 car will Karun Chandhok drive at Thruxton’s 50th Anniversary Celebration?

a) Nelson Piquet

b) Keke Rosberg
