BH PEGASUS A continued their pursuit of runners up spot in Open Division One with a 7-2 win over Andover Sport A and now sit five points behind Hurst A with a game in hand.

Hat-tricks from Rob Clayburn and Nick Choi and from Nick Reid and Martin Davey saw BH Pegasus A to an important win.

Whitchurch moved up to second in Open Division Two following two recent victories that earned them twelve points.

Kevin Scarpe and Mark Loader led the way with a hat-trick in a 7-2 win over BH Pegasus B and this was backed up by braces from Dinesh Tadikonda/Daniel Gender-Sherry and from Scott Haddon/Graham Woodrow.

In their second victory, a 5-4 win over Waverley B, there were doubles from Kevin Scarpe/Graham Woodrow and from Josh Bliss/Daniel Gender-Sherry, whilst Mark Gentry/James Huggins bagged a hat-trick in a losing cause for BH Pegasus B.

Leaders Beechdown A slipped to their second defeat of the season in Mixed Division One after losing 6-3 to a resurgent Viking A.

A hat-trick from Richard Whatley/Alison Crawford and a brace from Tim Cooper/Julie Shawley underpinned a strong Viking A performance, whilst a brace from Simon Hughes/Karen Hume top scored for the leaders. Despite the reverse Beechdown stretched their lead to 12 points, having played two games more than second placed Waverley A.

Viking A have leapfrogged into third with points on the board and it is now BH Pegasus who look in the greatest danger.

Although Phoenix A just shaded their top of the table clash against leaders Beechdown B in Mixed Division Two by 5-4, they were only able to cut the lead by one point.

Once again, a hat-trick from Greg Sudell/Alison Rendall led the way and backed by a brace from Matt Hawkins/Melissa Wolfe saw Phoenix A to victory.

Mark Bayliss/Sandra Smith notched a brace as Beechdown B limited the damage and remain seventeen points clear at the top, albeit having played two games more.

The BDBL Junior restricted tournament took place last weekend with 6 pairs battling it out for the title.

The winners this year were Sohaib Adnam/Thomas Godfrey (Basingstoke Junior Badminton Club) who beat Matthew Eastick/Ko Stephens (BJBC) by 21-20 in a gripping final match.

The rest of the placings from third to sixth were as follows Callum and Duncan Summerville (St Marys), Alexander De Silva/Thomas Roberts (BJBC), Connor De Silva/William Reid (BJBC) and Billy Smeeton/Tom Coles (Kintbury Juniors).
